Poem in qarrtsiluni

My poem, Shopping List, is now up at the excellent qarrtsiluni. There’s plenty of good stuff to peruse in the current Hidden Messages theme and in the archives.

Oh, you can also hear me read the poem.

yes that one's great - and I love being able to listen to people reading them... ah!

That was great, what a pleasure to hear you read it (and not an Edinburgh accent in sight!). I particularly like the line breaks on 'age / in the bathroom' and 'cling / film', thoroughly enjoyable listen and read!

Excellent poem Rob, and a good reading of it. I agree with sorlil about the line breaks.

Really fine poem, Rob. Haven't had chance to listen to it yet, but like the line-breaks too.

That poem was deeply disturbed. I liked it. Reminded me of an incident in my own life involving pesto sauce and a length of rubber tubing.

I try never to write - and publish! - poems about such things though. Gives one a bad name.

My comment didn't seem to post. It was high praise. I read the poem aloud myself first, enjoying the echoed sounds woven all throughout.

Thanks everyone. Glad you enjoyed it.

Jane, a "mad, bad and dangerous-to-know" persona would be great to have. It would sell books! Perhaps I could cultivate it, as I have a few poems to fit that image.

The only problem is that I am too nice... sob...
